I bought these because I wanted to mount them on a wooden deck and they were the only ones I could find that said “surface mount optional”. If they are indeed “surface mountable”, there is no hardware in the package to do that. I contacted Intermatic/Malibu and after a week or so they sent me an email suggesting that they may have accessory parts that you can buy from them to surface mount these lights. If you plan to surface-mount these, be aware that you can’t do it with the supplied hardware, you might be able to order accessory parts to do it, and if the accessory parts do exist, it will take forever to find and order them.
I was able to mount my lights in a hanging position without the parts, so ultimately I was satisfied with the product.

The two part connectors the came with my low voltage lights were a bother at best. Fiddled with them trying to light up the
Christmas decorations with floods. Finally threw them away and soldered and shrink insulated each connector. The lights worked great, just crappy connectors.

Floodlights were brighter than expected…love it. They light up the dark corners of the yard and highlight some of our plants. Everything is enclosed so that no bugs or stuff from the trees can get in. Big improvement over what we were previously using.

This garden light which is low voltage, is the perfect light for any garden! Easy to install and easy to keep clean because of the clear glass cover, this light is not only light weight but powerfully bright even with a 20W bulb. Add to that the great low price and you have a winner!

Bought four of these two weeks ago and installed with Malibu transformer and wire around our pond. Am amazed at the fixture’s good metal and stake quality. Including an MR16 bulb and the Malibu snap electrical connector, and a fine metal housing for less than eleven bucks, doesn’t seem possible! These are really great values.
