I use little lights like this to add ambience to as well as illuminate my home media studio. I was using regular xmas lights and had the string go out on me, so I decided to give these a try. Love how they ship with their own custom sized clips for mounting, it’s going to look a lot better than hanging from nails like the previous lights. The heavy duty protective tubing is a plus, I’ll be able to hang stuff from that as well later if I like….. though when you first open it, it is tightly coiled and needs to be untangled, like I said heavy duty, you have to really work it straight so it doesn’t coil up on you when installing. The scored/capped end makes it so you can easily add continuation to the tube, which I’ll most likely be doing. A great decorative addition to my eccentric setup here, as well as a quality package. Serious lighting, suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

I purchased this and after reading the caution label, it scared me too much – threw it in the trash since I don’t want to deal with the hassle of returning it.

There is a warning label to carefully wash your hands after touching/handling – since I purchased this for under-cabinet kitchen use, that scares me enough, I do not want it around my families food. The label doesn’t say why, or what specifically the danger is; nor does it indicate if there is any offgassing from use since the lights get warm and could exacerbate the problem if it does.

I’m not sure what’s on there, but I’d call them first if you intend to use this around your kitchen, pets or children.

We bought these and waited a few weeks to put on our patio. At first we thought they were great but after two weeks, sections of the lights burned out. Since we had waited so long to hang them it was too late to return them. We bought two strings of lights and they both did the same. Have had other rope lights that lasted for years, feel these must have been defective.

THESE LIGHTS ARE GREAT BUT IF YOU WANT A WHITE WHITE LIGHT THESE ARE NOT THE LIGHTS FOR YOU. WE BOUGHT THE CLEAR LIGHTS BUT THEY ARE REALLY MORE OF A PALE WHITE, DIRTY WHITE OR REAL LIGHT YELLOW LIGHT. WE HAVE SOME CLEAR LED LIGHTS IN THE YARD AND YOU CAN REALLY TELL THE DIFFERENCE BUT THE ROPE LIGHTS ARE GREAT, JUST NOT WHITE…….

I bought these to create some interesting lighting effects in my home office and bedroom. I found them easy to install using the provided clips. (I used my own screws as those provided are extremely cheap and don’t seat properly on any drill bit–they appear somewhere near a Phillips 1 point, but don’t seat correctly and are virtually unusable). All of my lights worked just fine right out of the box.

    Installations tips:

    1) Get yourself some quality size #10 .5 inch screws from your hardware store.

    2) Plug in the light before installing it. It will heat the plastic and make it much more flexible and easy to work with as you go along.

    3) You can also use cable ties to mount the lights if you get the clear plastic variety. These work as good or better than the clips for some applications.

These are very inexpensive rope lights and look great. Reading reviews it seems their quality may be hit-or-miss, but if you get a good set they’re a really good value.
